Didgeridoo Song
Track #2
Words & Music by Donna Stjerna & Kelly Mulhollan

RAP
Did you ever hear of a didgeridoo?  It comes from the land of the kangaroo.
Sounds like a jungle if you want it to, listen close I'll play it for you.

[Didgeridoo solo]

Didgeridoo Didgeridee
a branch growing on a Eucalyptus tree
if the termites eat it through and though,
it'll make a real good didgeridoo.
Knock on this, tap on that
give it a little bitty ratty-tat-tat
if it's hollow through and through
it'll make you a real good didgeridoo.

RAP
You can play it in your car, you can play it in the park
You can play it in the day, you can play it in the dark
You can play it on vacation, you can play it at home
You can play it on your neighbor's  CELL PHONE.

CHORUS

Cock-a-Diddley-Doo
Track #3
Words & Music Donna Stjerna & Kelly Mulhollan

Rooster on a fence post high, silhouetted against the sky,
ruffling his feathers, showing off his comb,
proud of his hens and his Ozark home!

Cock-a-Diddley-Doo
Cock-a-Diddley-Doo
Cock-a-Diddle-Diddley Dum
I wish he wouldn't wake me up
at the break of dawn...
Cock-a-Diddley-Doo
Cock-a-Diddley-Doo

With that ole rooster on this here farm,
I need not wind up my alarm, crowing loud he struts his stuff
"Wake up everybody, everybody WAKE UP!"

CHORUS

Talking part:  Now you see this rooster wakes me up at 6:00 every morning, just like clockwork. It was really weird, one morning I woke up and looked at the clock and it said 10:00!   Now either my alarm clock was broken or the rooster just disappeared in the middle of the night. Maybe he was abducted by ALIENS!  Hmm-m-m, I couldn't figure it out but I looked out the window and I was AMAZED by what I saw!

SING:
Late that morning to my surprise,
the world was lovely, bright and white,
I did not hear that rooster crow,
I guess those birds don't like the SNOW

CHORUS

Snowy Fall's Cat
Track #4
Words and Music by Donna Stjerna & Kelly Mulhollan

I always answer when he calls my name, I'm Snowy Fall's loyal cat.
Love to curl up into a big round ball and sleep all day perched upon his hat.
Snowy Fall dresses all in white from the top of his head to his spats.
Keeps a pair of mice tucked in his pocket and he's not afraid of cats.
Lucky for them I'm never very hungry, Snowy Fall feeds me 'fish n chips',
when them mice come up and visit me, well I just lick my lips!

CAT CHOIR

Meow meow meow...meow
Meow meow meow...meow

Lads and lasses love to watch me sit, up there on Snowy Fall's hat.
They always toss me a shilling or two and call him a really, really strange ole chap.
Snowy Fall always gives them coins to folks who are in need.
Keeps just enough to pay the rent and buy something fishy for me.
Snowy Fall always stands on the corner, smack dab in the center of town,
never moves a muscle from the crack of dawn, till the sun goes down.

Meow meow meow...meow
Meow meow meow...meow

I don't know what I'm ever gonna do when Snowy Fall passes away.
He is growing rather old, all hunched over, wrinkled and gray.
Guess I'll gather up them mice and find a new home for them,
under the pier down by the dock, where the fishing boats come in.
But for now I'll do my part, Snowy Fall he still needs me,
and them little white mice with them beady eyes,
to raise money for charity!

Meow meow meow...meow
Meow meow meow...meow

PLEASE, PASS THE PEACE
Track #5
Words and Music by Donna Stjerna & Kelly Mulhollan

I love your dark brown curly hair, you're so brown and I'm so fair.
You say your Mom makes great tortillas, honey dippin' sopillias.
My Mom can bake an apple pie, quick as you can blink an eye,
how 'bout it? Let's be friends!

There's a new kid on the block, just moved here from Vietnam.
If we're lucky he might teach, us to speak Viet-nam-ese.
I bet his Mom makes spring rolls, I've tasted them before,
I'm so glad this new kid's living right next door!

The world is a table we all should gather 'round,
share a meal together, lay our differences down,
when we join together, life becomes a feast,
so PLEASE, pass the peace.

There's a girl in our school, I think she is really cool,
She's from Ethiopia, that's way down in Africa.
She makes a really tasty soup, calls it Sweet Potato Stew
Yum Yum, she's my friend!
My new buddy from Bombay, eats his food in a clever way,
his fingers act just like a spoon, wish I could eat that way too.
I've heard his Papa play on a beautiful Sitar,
wish he'd come and play in my back yard.   (Sing CHORUS)

SLOW
I saw a program on T.V., that taught about the Middle East
I'd like to know those children there, wouldn't it be fun to share....`
stories and a lovely meal, learn the way each other feels...
I wish we, could all be friends!   (Sing CHORUS)

DINNER CONVERSATION:
Kelly: Hey Emily, could you pass the compassion?  Emily: Sure if you give me a sprinkle of kindness.
Donna: This is the BEST friendship I've EVER tasted!   Emily: Delicious

Abagaz
Track # 6
Words & Music Donna Stjerna & Kelly Mulhollan
Based on an Ethiopian legend

SUNG:
Long ago in Ethiopia, lived a man named Abagaz
He was lonely in his life, looking for a lovely wife,
but there were no young single women, in his little tiny village.
So he went over the mountain side and found himself the perfect bride.

His garden never grew a weed...for she plowed all the fields.
His stomach never growled loud, for she cooked all the meals.
His britches were not tattered and ragged any more,
for she would stitch them up each and every time they tore,
it's sad but true. He never, ever, ever told her THANK YOU.

SPOKEN:
But one night, just around supper time, Abagaz's wife began to scream. It sounded like something out of a really bad dream...it sounded like this...AAAAARRRRRGGGGG.......(Loud screaming sounds) Abagaz couldn't stand it any longer so he went to the house of the witch doctor and he begged him for a cure. The witch doctor said "Abagaz, you need to climb that mountain over there, and bring back a single hair from the mane of the golden lion!"

SUNG:
Abagaz journeyed days and days, till he came upon the lions cave.
He made that lion an offering, of figs and dates, milk and cheese.
The lion said THANK YOU to him and flashed a big ole lion's grin.
So the next day Abagaz brought meat, because he knows that's what them lions eat!

Every morning when the lion left, Abagaz would clean the cave.
And he would leave a bucket full, of fresh water every day.
He finally asked the lion for a strand of his mane,
the lion gave it freely and then he sent him away.
It's sad but true, he never, ever told that lion THANK YOU.

SPOKEN:
Well, Abagaz went back to the hut of the witch doctor and he showed him the hair that he had gotten and he begged him for that cure and the witch doctor said, "Abagaz, did you not learn anything from your journey??? You kept that hungry lion fed, you cleaned his cave and you made his bed, all that so that you could be his friend, WHY DON'T YOU TREAT YOUR WIFE LIKE THAT?"

So Abagaz thought about it, he put the hair in his pocket and he hurried home.
And as he made his way up the hill to his hut, he heard his wife screaming again.

AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGG  (Loud screaming sounds)

So Abagaz pushed open the door and he shouted, "Wife, THANK YOU for all you've given me!" And his wife stopped screaming.

SUNG:
And his garden never grew a weed, for they BOTH plowed all the fields.
And his stomach never growled loud, for they BOTH cooked all the meals.
Abagaz now lives in perfect harmony, he learned to be a friend and he learned to say PLEASE
and now it's true. He ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS says THANK YOU!

The Oud is Not Food

The Oud is not food....the Oud is not food...the Oud is not food, unless you're a termite.

The Month Song
Track #8
Words & Music Donna Stjerna & Kelly Mulhollan

If I were January I would wear icicle ribbons in my hair
If I were February I would play with a ground hog on Ground Hog Day

CHORUS
January, February, March, April, May
June, July and August
September, October, November
and December

If I were March I'd build me a kite, I'd fly it morning, noon and night
If I were April I'd rack my brain, till I figured out... how to make it rain.    CHORUS

If I were the Month of May, I'd pick a big purple bouquet
of lilacs for the month of June, we'd dance beneath, the silvery moon.   CHORUS

July and August whispered in September's ear, betcha can't name all the months of the year... CHORUS

If I were October I'd grow all hairy, I'd be really big and scary
November be so afraid of me, he'd turn all colors and drop his leaves.  CHORUS

Now what about December?  I think he's a perfect end-er.
If I were him I'd sing this song, let everybody, sing along!!!  CHORUS

The Legend of Eldorado
Track #9
Music by Donna Stjerna & Kelly Mulhollan
Lyrics inspired by a children's book of the same name

The sun blinded the moon many years ago, tears from the moon filled the lake below.
A mighty serpent slept 'neath waters emerald green, enchanting anyone who disturbed his dream.
One day the Queen bathed in his deep waters, never returned back home again.

Then the mighty King, stricken with grief, withered and crumbled just like a leaf.
His people were worried, their King was in pain, so on a full moon they circled the lake.
Fires they burned brightly, drums they beat softly, they prayed to their gods and the snake below.

Lake of Sadness-full of gold
Now your legend must be told
Lake of  Sadness-full of gold
Now your legend must be told

The moon disappeared, a wild wind arose, waves they crashed and the serpent spoke.
"The hour has not come," he said to the King, "it's not time for you to be with your Queen,
So you must rule wisely, King Eldorado, send all your treasures down to me!"

And so every year he ladens a boat, with rubies and emeralds, all it can hold.
Anointing his body with oils made of musk, he covers his skin in golden dust.
Then plunges into the waters below...offers his body of gilded gold.

Lake of Sadness-full of gold
Now your legend has been told
Lake of Sadness-full of gold
Now your legend has been told

Flower Man
Track #10
Words and Music Donna Stjerna & Kelly Mulhollan

Flower Man, Flower Man, gots the brightest home down in Houston.
Gotta big ole flashy grin, wider than the mighty Mississippi.
Got him a bike with a basket on the back, rides around the city pickin' up trash
turns it into treasures with a ratty-tat-tat as he nails it on to his rickety shack to make it shine.

Flower Man, Flower Man, his real name is Cleveland.
Folk all call him Flower Man, he's got pansies and sweet taters growing.
In his yard he's got him a yucca plant, but he ain't never grew flowers on it,
and he didn't like that one little bit, so he stuck a hunk of styrofoam on every tip to make it bloom.

One night someone came around, tried to burn his house down and the neighbors cried, "Get out, get out... Flower Man!". Well, Flower Man didn't understand, thought everybody was his friend, as Flower Man looked around, at all his treasures burning down...there was a picture of Redbirds with the frame all charred, and a jackalope burning up in the yard, and a teddy bear laying face down on the ground, with smoldering stuffing just pouring out, but the thing that made him the saddest to see was his burned up avocado tree!

Flower Man, Flower Man, gots the brightest home down in Houston.
Said, "I ain't gonna let it get me down, there's more treasures to be found!"
So he hops on his bike with a basket on the back, rides around the city pickin' up trash
turns it into treasures with a ratty-tat-tat as he nails it to his burned up shack to make it shine!

Flower Man, Flower Man. Got the brightest home down in HOUSTON.

Little Birdie Nest
Track #11
Words & Music Donna Stjerna & Kelly Mulhollan

Did you ever climb up in a tree, when the leaves are popping in the early spring,
and find a nest with a bird egg in it...did you ever wonder just how they did it?
Did you ever look at that nest up close?  Ain't it amazing the way it's wove?
Each one is their very own, one of a kind...PERFECT home.

CHORUS
Little bit of sticks, little bit of grass,
little bit of this, little bit of that,
little bit of fur and a strand of hair
a feather or two placed with care
a little bird beak with a dab of mud
whole lot of little bird love
lotta hard work no time to rest
for a little bird to build a little bird nest.

Now a Hummingbird's nest is as big as your thumb, betcha never, ever, ever, ever, ever seen one!
They make 'em out of dandelion fluff, glue 'em together with spider web stuff.
And there's an owl they call the Elf, well she lives in the desert all by herself
she like to make her little nest, in a hole in the middle of a prickly cactus.   (Chorus)

Now a pigeon makes a real nice nest, perched on the edge of a window ledge
and an Oriole knows just how to weave it's home hanging down from the branch of a tree.
And an Eagle builds it's nest so high, why it seems to almost touch the sky
10' tall that's awfully huge, twice the size of me and you  (Chorus)

The ovenbird makes a real nice nest, hidden in the leaves of the deep forest
and a Bower bird make a real nice home with things that sparkle like silver and gold.
The Barn own and the Barn swallow, build their nest in the barn in the hollow
but them ole barns are falling down, hope they don't have to build their nest downtown! (Chorus)

BLACK BEAUTY
Track #12
Words & Music Donna Stjerna & Kelly Mulhollan

When I was a kid 10 or 11, my Daddy did something I've never forgotten
He yelled down the drive, "I've got something for ya"
I hopped down the stairs two by two
There in the back of his old station wagon,
was a shiny new bike, no special occasion,
I didn't get straight 'A's, it wasn't my birthday
He bought me that bike JUST BECAUSE!

Black Beauty was the name I gave him,
he was shiny and black, he was my stallion.
We'd ride up and down, all over the town
making the rounds!

When I was a teen we moved away, out to Cal-i-for-ni-a
I never learned to drive a car, Black Beauty took me near and far.
Because every road had a special path, just for bikes and pedestrians..
I went everywhere, loved the wind in my hair,
how I loved to ride my bike.

I could ride to school and back
to the grocery store with a big ole sack
I could ride to the library, ride to the park
ride up until dark.

Now I'm grown with a kid of my own, I've made Arkansas my home.
I finally had to learn to drive, you need a car here to survive
Because where I live there are no paths...made for bikes and pedestrians,
I had to put Black Beauty down, to live here in this town.

TALK
Now sure I could load up the bikes in the van
and drive on down to Devil's den
I can ride around a park or a track...
but I don't want to ride like that!!!

SING
I wanna ride to Arsaga's for a cup-a coffee
Ride to the Co-op to get my groceries.
I want to ride to the library, get a book to read
then ride down Dickson Street.

Changes
Track #13
Words & Music Donna Stjerna & Kelly Mulhollan

Many, many years ago when the Great Spirit breathed upon the earth and brought life,
the people were happy because there was fresh air, clean water and plenty of food to eat.
They worked and played in harmony with nature and they were happy.
But down through the centuries, things changed, those little villages became huge cities with skyscrapers.
Then the people got greedy, they wanted more than their fair share,
they poisoned the water and they poisoned the air.
Then they fought with one another, they moved away from one another, they became isolated from one another
and they were no longer happy...and then one day it happened...
THE BUTTERFLIES DIED!
Now this was a tragedy you see, because butterflies were sacred,
butterflies represented beauty and change and everyone marveled at the way a caterpillar could transform itself
reminding us we could change if we wanted to...but everything seemed hopeless...
now that the butterflies were gone.

CHORUS ~ SING-A-LONG
CHA-A-A-ANGES,  WE CAN MAKE 'EM
IF WE CHOOSE TO, IT'S UP TO ME AND YOU
OH OH OH CHANGES
CHA-A-A-ANGES, WE CAN MAKE 'EM
IF WE CHOOSE TO

So the Great Spirit was worried about his children, so he devised a master plan.
He sent children out to every corner of the globe and told them each to come back with something incredible.

SO FROM THE TUNDRA OF ANTARTICA...This is what they brought:

A million sparkling crystals made out of thin ice
a garment brightly woven from the Northern Lights
Tusk of a Woolly Mammoth, the wild winds that blow
a Snow Queen dressed in moonbeams with a long white winter veil.

FROM THE ORIENT AND THE FAR EAST...This is what they brought:

A wooden pagoda carved entirely by hand
million yards of the finest silk and a tiny paper fan
a little green Siamese cat sculpted out of jade
and a thousand perfectly folded origami cranes.

CHORUS

THEN FROM AMERICAS AND THE WILD WEST...This is what they brought:

Sweetly scented sage, porcupine quills,
buffalo hide, soap stone pipe, painted desert hills
an appaloosa pony just as swift as the wind
and a medicine bag, best ever made to put it all in.

FROM SOUTH AMERICA AND FROM AFRICA...This is what they brought:

A bright red tail feather from a parakeet
shiny green leaf from the great Kapok tree
the Pyramids if Geza the whole River Nile
Zebra stripes, Leopard spots and a Crocodile smile

CHORUS

Now even with all that magic, the Great Spirit needed MORE magic, he needed STRONGER magic.
So he cut off a lock of hair, from children everywhere, every race, every beautiful face.
RED and YELLOW, BLACK and WHITE, GOLDEN BROWN and TAN
He gathered all those locks of hair into his great big hand, then he put it in the sack,
tied it up real tight, and sprinkled it with stardust from the darkest night.
Then he made a wish. He wished we could all work together again.
That we could tolerate one another and learn to be friends. Then he said the MAGIC WORDS...
PLEASE AND THANK YOU
then he spun that sack around his head like a cowboy with a lasso.
Then he set it down...and he opened it up...and a billion beautiful butterflies flew out
and they fluttered in the wind...and the people they were happy once again.

CHORUS
