"Mermaid Lau"
This song was inspired by the American swimmer Mimi Hughes who swims to raise awareness of river pollution and the legend of the Mermaid Lau of Germany. See the July 2010 newsletter for more about it! Unreleased material (2010)
"Weaning House"
A duet based on a story told to us by the late Benson & Fleecy Fox of Leslie, Arkansas. It's an Ozark tradition to build a "weaning house" on the family land for a newlywed couple to practice married life before striking out on their own. It appears on the Ozark album (2008).

"Optimist Anthem"
In the face of the world's problems, sometimes it's easy to be pessimistic and cynical but this song shows that it is much more productive to be optimistic, even if you have to PRETEND at first! This album, Mouthpiece (2009), is a collection of Still on the Hill's politically-themed songs.

"More Room in My Heart"
On the 4th of July, Fayetteville, Arkansas held a Freedom Fest to celebrate our Freedom of Speech. Soap boxes were set up around the square and folks could speak their minds. Donna wrote this that evening after walking around listening to different voices. It's about tolerance for other's opinions even if they are different than our own. Found on the album Mouthpiece (2009).

"Dream the Sweetest Dream"
We had just returned from Punta Gorda, Florida after a loving visit with Steve Blackwell's family and friends. It was a healing experience for us. The family is using this song DREAM THE SWEETEST DREAM, that we wrote in honor of Steve, for his memorial service and we want it to be available for downloading to anyone.  Steve will be missed but his legacy and songs will live on! Unreleased material (recorded Sept. 2006)
"The Cuckoo"
A fiery banjo-driven live rendition of this traditional song recorded on both the Still album (2000) and here on the Folk Stage Live album (2002).
